The Feed Feature - Baptism

Are you a new believer in Jesus Christ?

If so, you may be wondering, “What do I do now?” One significant next step for every new believer is to be baptized. Consider what Jesus says in Matthew 28.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded them. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (28:19-20).

The first step of discipleship after saving faith in Jesus is to be baptized. Water baptism is not a requirement for salvation—it is a result of salvation. Baptism communicates to everyone watching that you have placed your faith in Christ and desire to be publicly identified with Him. Being lowered into the water and raised out of the water is an outward display of the internal reality that your life has been joined with Jesus in His burial, death, and resurrection (see Romans 6:3-4)

If you have become a believer and have never been water baptized, you have the opportunity to do so. Our church-wide Baptism and Picnic will be at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, at 5pm on Sunday May 7.

To sign up, please email us letting us know you’d like to be baptized and one of our Pastors will help you get ready. Our church family looks forward to the potluck picnic that day and to celebrating with you your first act of obedience to Jesus.
