We demonstrate our love for Jesus Christ by loving others. Our love for one another is a response to and a consequence of Christ's love for us (1 John 4:19-20). Furthermore, we are told that we are to express God's love to other's with our actions not just with words (I John 3:16-18).
Therefore, when we as a congregation, provide care to those who are in need, we are demonstrating obedience to God's commandment to love one another (1 John 4:7).
True to our purpose as a church, our caring for one another is a means of reaching others with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ, because it is an essential part of our witness to the world (John 13:35).
When a crisis event occurs in the life of someone in our family, we will try to meet their emotional, spiritual, and physical needs as best as possible through family, friends, members of the church and others who are connected relationally to the family in crisis.
