Thanks Giving-Back

Have you ever forgotten to give thanks? Have you ever been given something that you asked for and in the excitement of the moment, just simply forgot to say "Thank you?" Well, here is your chance to pause and say "Thank You."

The scriptures are full of examples of giving thanks to our Lord:

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." Ps 100:4

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever." Ps 136:1-3

This Saturday, November 22nd, Hill Country Bible Church Pflugerville will gather together for our annual Thanks Giving-Back dinner to specifically give thanks to God for all that he has done. We will have a wonderful meal together with the best smoked turkey you will ever have and some of the corniest turkey carvers you've ever seen. It will be fun for all because we will also have a special session for the children with the Gospel Adventure team. Most importantly, we will take a special offering for our Benevolence ministry. This ministry exists to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people in our body and in our community.

During these uncertain economic times, it is critical that we have our foundation and faith securely tied to the God of creation and not to our jobs or our bank accounts. Yes, I know - this is not easy. But God is pleased with us when we live by faith and not by sight.

What should you do? 1) Bring your family on November 22nd and join us for dinner. If you haven't bought tickets yet, you can purchase them at the door when you arrive. Bring with you 2 side dishes, or 1 side and 1 dessert. 2) Then please pray about what God would have you give as a gift to the benevolence ministry to help people in need keep their lights on or not get evicted from their home. 3) Tell us what you are thankful for by clicking here before the end of Wed, Nov 19 and we will add your praise to our "I am thankful for..." booklet.

I know that we give thanks all year long, but during this holiday season, let's stop and take time out of our busy schedules to give thanks to God and to give back to God a special offering for the benefit of others.
