Serving the Single Mom

For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing. And you are to love those who are aliens... Deuteronomy 10:17-19

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:  to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  James 1:27

Breath of Life

Description:

Breath of Life is a maternity ministry which exists to establish support, both financially and emotionally, for women in unexpected pregnancy and continues to offer that support for the mom after the delivery. 

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Be a shepherding family and house a birthmom through her pregnancy
  • Handyman work for expansion projects and upkeep
  • Help lead a single moms bible study

Pflugerville Pregnancy Resource Center

Description:

The Pflugerville Pregnancy Resource Center exists to love, in a Christ like way, all women who are in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual help when facing an unexpected pregnancy. 

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Two people needed daily to serve as a Client Advocate to minister directly to the women in need (training provided).
  • Organize and help run the Boutique (A part of PPRC that provides free baby clothes and more)
  • Two people needed daily to help with PPRC up-keep (cleaning, filing, ect)

Helping Hands

Description:

Helping Hands exists to show God's love for the Single Moms in our community by providing spiritual and emotional care as well as providing for immediate physical needs such as a ride to work, fixing a car or repairing a house.  

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Skilled labor volunteers (mechanical, automotive, electrical, ect)
  • Practical needs volunteers (mow yard, change light bulbs, paint, ect)
  • Care Team Ladies who will visit with single moms, assess their needs and extend Christ's love
  • Ladies who will drive single moms to work if their car will not start
