A Fresh Water Well for the Mission

Thank you all for your prayers and support! I want to share some of the answers with you.

Two days ago a volunteer team from the US with a well drilling mission brought in a water well on the property. The Mission had been drilling off and on for 12 years trying to bring in a well, and now it is a reality. I have pictures and video I will have posted on a website so that you can see the team drilling. These guys are covered constantly in dust, dirt, and grime, but they have hearts of pure gold. I think they actually drilled in 6-7 spots on the property in their quest.

The convoy mission team that provides the distribution to the Mission warehouse went to pick up the food promised by the UN yesterday, but were told to come back today. The promised allocation was also reduced to 16 metric tons, not nearly enough. Another aid agency then volunteered 60 tons, and by late last night the warehouse was fully loaded. Food distribution will resume this morning.

Several large Non Givernmental Agencies have now taken notice of the Mission and are discussing how strategic partnerships can be established, some for the long haul. Many of these folks have a completely different agenda, and don't mind stepping on the Mission and disrupting its operations to get where they want to be. In a few weeks Haiti will merely be another merit badge to display. I ask for you to pray that those folks will do a lot of good, but that you lift up the Mission's desire to implement the mission that God has given them. Pray for strategic partnerships to be a win-win for both organizations.

There may be developing some opportunities for immediate and long range funding for the Mission's HaitiOne vision. Pray for wisdom, clarity of expression, open hearts, and God's timing and superintendency of this.

And while you're praying, pray for quick healing of a rolled ankle I incurred yesterday. Fortunately it occured on the path leading down from the clinc/hospital, so I was able to limp back up. The OR docs were finished, and welcomed a live specimen. In typical doctor gallows humor, they discussed all the possible options to treat it, but finally settled on wrapping it, take two ibuprofen, and call them in the morning (no ice here). I was able to keep it elevated enough to quell the swelling, and can limp gingerly today. Fortunately, my day will be office bound for planning and coordination today, so with time, rest, and prayer recovery should be quick.

Yesterday I ducked my head into post-op, and there was some spontaneous praise singing that began among the family members who stand in the doorway or line the walls where their lived ones rest. While US hospitals would frown on the practice, here it seems so right to have multiple patients and family members together in one room.

Many docs and nurses rotate out today and tomorrow, so pray for their safe travel home and for those who will be arriving. Pray also for the Mission president's family who fly back in today.

God is working in many hearts on master plan we see only darkly as through a glass. The stories many share show His hand. Pray for all our hearts to be responsive to the promoting of the Spirit.

God bless you all, and thank you for sharing these missives with family and friends. Please circulate widely as prayer is the currency of the Kingdom.
