In 1 Samuel 25 David sends his men to Nabal for a small favor in light of his help and protection he gave Nabal's men in the fields. Nabal rejected him and even mocked him. Abigail, however, a "discerning and beautiful" woman realized the grave mistake her husband just made and secretly prepares a large meal and intervenes with David. Wow. Hannah and Eli could not be more different. Hannah is a woman in distress crying out to God so much so that she is physically shaken. Eli (a priest of God) seems so disconnected from the idea of crying out to God that He assumes her to be drunk. Why not assume her to be in prayer? She's at the tabernacle. Read More
